Sustainable Transport

Renewable energy in battery electric vehicles

Recent research for the UK Government (E4Tech 2007) concluded that as the transport sector is the most CO2 intensive sector per KWh of energy delivered, using renewable energy in battery electric vehicles could save more CO2 than using it in the electricity generation or heat sector. For more details read the E4Tech Report produced for the department of transport in 2007.

Pressure group Friends of the Earth have researched into what materials are likely to be leftover as residual household waste once the maximum recycling, composting and waste minimisation targets have been achieved, and to examine what exactly should be done with them.
