Currently, this group is being set up to protect Pipistrelle Bats in and around wooded areas of Erskine.

Funding has been provided by CSV Earth Action to put up 12 bat boxes. On Sunday 23rd October, a tree survey was completed and 3 sites have been identified.  Future events will involve securing bat boxes to mature trees and monitoring bat movements.

This week, a short documentary about how a Stirlingshire village has benefited from renewable energy and other energy saving projects can now be watched online.

Fintry was the first village in the UK to enter a joint-venture agreement with a wind farm developer. The Wind of Change15 minute documentary follows the community’s efforts as they carry out installation of micro-renewable heating systems, planting a community orchard and opening a woodland area for the local primary school.

The bust of the Scout celebrating the 100th anniversary of scouting was unveiled on 29th September 2011.

The memorial is located at the entrance to the Paisley Art Gallery and Museum.

Fundraising efforts by the Paisley and District Scouts has made this possible. The Trust provided landfill tax funds for the Plinth.

Special thanks is also due to the sculptor, Sandy Stoddart who has supported the project.

The history and heritage of Gleniffer Braes Country Park is featured in this exhibition at Paisley Museum, High Street, Paisley from 27th May to 21st August 2011. Tues- Sat 11am – 4pm, and Sundays (and public holidays) 2-5pm.

The songs and poetry of Robert Tannahill were inspired by the landscapes of Gleniffer Braes and this exhibition shows that importance of the wildlife, landscapes, geology, archaelogy and history of the area.

There are various talks and walks not to be missed!
